FAN ART FRIDAY: “Tower of Heaven” by コユ

This week, we look at another piece from our Japanese fans to commemorate Tower of Heaven’s recent Japanese translation. And oh, my (flashy) goodness, is this a work of art.

Rather than depict just a single scene, コユ compresses the entire game into one grand, glorious mural—encompassing everything from the various hazards to the true ending (spoilers) and beyond.

In many ways, this is the perfect summary of the game itself. A mix of pixels/paint and exaggerated perspective give shape to the reality-warping effects of the tower from the game’s ending poem. The circular throng of Eids recalls the countless deaths he likely suffered on his adventure, while also alluding to the game’s replayability, and how it can be enjoyed again and again.

Speaking of which, why not replay it now? We’ll be back next week with another fan art feature!
